KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Kencot community is now without power after an electricity pole and wires were torn down by a truck along Lyndhurst Road on Tuesday.
Reports are that the truck was travelling along the road when it got entangled with low-hanging wires, resulting in the pole being torn down.
Representatives from the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) company were unable to confirm the incident, but checks on the MyJPS mobile app revealed that there was an unplanned outage in the Kencot community beginning at 11:13 am. It said 38 customers were impacted.
In the meantime, police are currently on the scene redirecting traffic in the area.
