KINGSTON, Jamaica – National record holder Adelle Tracey won her second national championships after she held off American Gabrielle Wilkinson to win the women’s 1500m on Friday’s second day of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association’s (JAAA) National Championships at the National Stadium.
Tracey was overtaken with about 250 meters to go but caught the American with about 80 metres to go and blew past here to win in a creditable 4:17.80 minutes.
Wilkinson was second with 4:19.30 minutes with Jodian Walker third in 5:51.60 minutes.
Alexia Palmer of Sydney Pagon High won the Under -18 girls’ 1500m final in 4:48.37 minutes after a tight battle with Alphansus Davis’ Alikay Reynolds who unexpectedly stopped with about 120 metres to go.
Abigail Richards was second with 5:00.30 minutes and Tabbrel Williams took third place with 5:13.76 minutes.
