KINGSTON, Jamaica — Lloydricia Cameron failed to qualify for the final of the women’s shot put after throwing 17.77m in the first round of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, Friday evening Jamaica time.
It was the exact same mark she threw when she placed fifth at the NACAC Senior Championships in Freeport, Bahamas in August.
Cameron, who has a season’s best 18.12m, improved in each of her three throws, starting with 17.22m, improved to 17.69m before ending with 17.77m.
She was eighth in her group and 16th overall.
