MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Police in Manchester imposed a 48-hour curfew after two men were found dead in Porus in the parish on Wednesday and Sunday.

In the latest incident, in Ramble district, the body of 33-year-old Oraine Kelsey, otherwise called “Bad Bush”, was found about 9:30 am Sunday by residents in a state of decomposition with gunshot wounds, police said.

The body was found four days after Trinity resident Gerronoe Walsh, 29, was shot dead on Wednesday.

A police report said about 9:42 pm, residents heard explosions. Police were alerted and Walsh’s body was seen on the roadway with a gunshot wound to the head.

In a release on Sunday night, the police’s Constabulary Communications Network (CCN) said the curfew took effect at 6:00 pm on September 7, and will remain in effect until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9.

Police listed the boundaries of the curfew as:

– East along an imaginary line from the intersection of the toll road and Melrose district to a section of the Porus main road in the vicinity of Barnett Street;
– South along an imaginary line from the northern boundary at the Porus main road to the Redberry district;
– Westerly along an imaginary line from the eastern boundary to an area of vegetation to the broadleaf community; and
– Northerly along an imaginary line from Redberry at the southern boundary to the northern border at the toll road and Melrose district.

During the hours of the curfew, people within its boundaries are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorised.
