Zamunda and Fantan Mojah collaborate on Roots Rock Reggae, a song produced by Garfield Cowan for Natures Way Entertainment.
Released on July 4, it is the first single from the rhythm of the same name.
Cowan said it was Zamunda’s idea to record a song with Fantan Mojah, but on one condition.
“I told Zamunda that Fantan Mojah has to sing his part the way he sang Stronger, his hit song back in 2009, which has over 33 million views,” he recalled. “The energy was great from the start; once Fantan heard the Roots Rock Reggae rhythm, he said, ‘This is a hit for sure!’ ”
The project is the first in 2025 for Natures Way Entertainment, a South Florida-based company best known for producing hit songs like Let me Love You Tonight by Wayne Wonder and Wake Up by Jah Cure.
It is Zamunda’s latest song for the company, his previous being a cover of Chris Brown’s Angel Numbers (his version is known as Energy).
Unga Barunga ,Welsh Bass, and Big Ras from Heavy Weight Rockaz, Iba Mahr, Ginjah, Turbulence, Anthony B, and Cathy Matete from Kenya also recorded songs on the Roots Rock Reggae beat, which was recorded at Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston.
