KINGSTON, Jamaica – Roshawn Clarke will get a second chance at a World Athletics Championships medal after he won his second national senior title on Saturday, running a season’s best 48.02 seconds to win the men’s 400m hurdles event in the JAAA National Senior Championships at the National Stadium.
The World Under-20 record holder, who was fourth in Budapest two years ago, made up for his loss in last year’s finals at the national championships, lowering his previous best 48.20 seconds with the sixth best time in the world so far this year.
Assinie Wilson is headed to his first major global championships after he was second in 48.42 seconds, also his season’s best time, while last year’s winner Malik James-King got the bronze on his 26th birthday, running 48.49 seconds.
