KINGSTON, Jamaica – Ashanti Moore ran 22.92 seconds (-2.8m/s) in her first 200m race of the season to lead the qualifiers into Sunday’s final of the women’s 200m at the JAAA National Championships at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Moore, who was seventh in the 100m final on Friday, easily won her heat ahead of Gabrielle Matthews who ran 23.28 seconds and also qualified.
Roneisha McGregor, 23.37 seconds; Kemba Nelson, 23.39 seconds; and Jodean Williams, 23.42 seconds, also won their heat and grabbed automatic qualifying spots.
Neisha Burgher, 23.45 seconds, and Briana Williams, 23.54 seconds, also advanced.
