KINGSTON, Jamaica — Olympic Games silver medalist Kishane Thompson ran a season’s best 9.88 seconds (0.0m/s), fourth best in the world this year, to win the men’s 100m at Saturday’s Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium in Kingston.
Thompson got off to a good start, was ahead of the field mid-way the race and cruised to the win, signalling that he is on course to retain his national title later this month.
Oblique Seville, last year’s winner, had a strong second half of the race to finish second in a season’s best 9.97 seconds with South Africa’s Gift Leotlela third in 10.04 seconds.
Sandrey Davison ran a season’s best 10.07 seconds (0.8m/s) to win the B race ahead of Kadrian Goldson- 10.10 seconds with Deandre Daley third in 10.19 seconds.
