KINGSTON, Jamaica — Many time Barbadian champion Tia-Adana Belle won the first event of the Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium, taking the women’s 400m hurdles in 55.74 seconds.
Belle came off the final curve trailing Jamaica’s Sanique Walker but took advantage of a slight stumble by the latter at the final hurdle to get to the finish line first.
Walker, the former Vere Technical High runner, produced a personal best 55.78 seconds, beating her previous best 55.87 seconds while American Bianca Stubler was third with 56.52 seconds.
