KINGSTON, Jamaica — Gospel recording artiste Roxanne Robinson is celebrating the success of her debut album Still Standing.
Released in October 2024, the album was produced by her own Roxanne Robinson Music label.
“This album means everything to me. Being vulnerable is never easy but I wanted to touch heaven as I connect and be relatable to my audience/church/unsaved. After all I’ve been through, I’m passionately compelled to go tell it on the mountain what God has done for me. This album is a combination of declarations, proclamations, encouragement, deep worship and high praise; a musical journey leaving you wanting more,” the singer said.
Containing 11 tracks, the project was completed in a little over two years. The writing process took several years, as the songs are based on the singer’s lived experiences and were completed with the help of her producers.
“The process was not easy. It was also fun and rewarding all at once. [The] first thing we had to do was find our tribe — those who will push with you through the sun and the rain. Faith was our daily bread. Trust was my best friend and willpower was my driving force through every phase,” she explained.
Since its release, the album has been receiving positive feedback, with songs such as Caribbean Medley, Still Standing and Release among the crowd favourites.
“My hope for this album is for it to touch lives beyond human comprehension. It’s an encounter with God, not Roxanne,” the singer continued.
Having been on her musical journey since she was 12 years old, it all started with Robinson singing in the youth department, as well as duets with her sister. In 2015, she officially became a recording artist and released her first EP, self-titled Roxanne Robinson. Over the course of her career, she has released tracks such as Yahweh, Release Your Power and Holy Rock of Ages.
“What’s next is whatever God says. I’m currently marketing the album while building my kingdom business and expanding the ministry beyond the four walls of the church,” Robinson said.
