King FA, Lewis YC get back-to-back wins in St Ann Major League

ST ANN, Jamaica — King FA and Lewis YC both scored back-to-back wins to become joint leaders in their respective zones of the St Ann Football Association Major League on Sunday after scoring wins over Dry Harbour and Mount Edgecombe, respectively at Drax Hall.

Nathan Whitehorn and Antonio Mitchell both scored doubles for King FA as they joined Madras FC on six points in Zone A.

Whitehorn got started early when he opened the scoring in the fourth minute before Mitchell made it 2-0 when he scored in the 14th minute, but Jamar Gayle halved the deficit when he pulled a goal back for Dry Harbour in the 42nd minute.

Mitchell restored King FA’s two-goal lead when he completed his brace in the 52nd minute, and Whitehorn followed suit when he got his second in the 72nd minute.

Jaheel Berry added a fifth goal for King FA in the 80th minute.

In the first game of the double header, Ceejay Gibbs scored a double, to join Moneague FC’s Kevin Maine on four, to lead Lewis YC to a 2-0 win over Mount Edgecombe, scoring in the seventh and 80th minutes.

Lewis are in a three-way tie for the lead in Zone B as Moneague FC and Black Stars have won their first two games.
