KINGSTON, Jamaica – Detectives from the St Andrew South Police Division have charged 45-year-old Conroy Grant, also known as “Snack,” with simple larceny following a theft incident on Waltham Park Road, Kingston 13.
According to reports from the Hunt’s Bay Police, the incident occurred around 6:45 am on August 25. A woman had reportedly parked her vehicle at a business establishment, leaving a bag containing $230,000 inside. Upon returning, she discovered the money missing.
Subsequent review of surveillance footage revealed that Grant, who works as a windscreen wiper and resides on Delacree Lane in Kingston 11, had removed the cash from the bag.
Following an investigation, Grant was taken into custody. Police say he later confessed to the crime and provided a caution statement in the presence of his attorney.
He is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on October 14.
