It has been over 25 years since George Wright gave his life to God, a transformation he credits with making him a more focused person. He gives thanks to the Almighty with DNA, his latest song.

The Connecticut-based gospel artiste co-produced the uptempo track with Andre “Dretegs” Hawthorne. It was released on September 5.

“DNA is about a testament of my blessings, and how God helped me move through these maddening times. With his protection, I feel blessed gracefully,” he told the Observer Online.

Dretegs, who is based in New York, has produced songs by several established artistes such as Sizzla and Jesse Royal. He and veteran musician Sidney Mills worked with Brotha George on Secret Admirer, his upcoming album which is scheduled for release late this year.

His 12th album, Secret Admirer is the follow-up to Firm And Strong which came out in May 2023. It will contain 10 songs Brotha George has recorded over the years with Mills, who played keyboards for many years with British band Steel Pulse.

“They were recorded a long time ago, but Sidney and Dretegs took the time to update the tracks and make this presentation which is a lovers rock collection,” said Brotha George.

Secret Admirer is the first song he recorded in 1978 as George Wright. It was produced by Ossie Hibbert, a prolific session musician at Channel One studio in Kingston.
