Roxanne Robinson celebrates Sterling Gospel Music Award nomination

Gospel recording artiste Roxanne Robinson is on a celebratory high, following her recently announced Sterling Gospel Music Awards nomination.

Her single Caribbean Medley has been nominated in the Local Hit Song of the Year category.

“I am beyond grateful to be recognised by the country of my birth. This is indeed a welcome home gift backed by heaven,” the singer said.

With the nomination being her first for the awards, this is a stellar milestone for Robinson as an artiste, considering the song’s growing popularity with almost 710,000 streams to date.

“While I won’t be performing this year, I’m hoping to do so next year and I’m looking forward to the result. Whatever happens, I’m happy to have reached this far,” she added.

With this achievement to celebrate, Robinson has had a winning year in 2025 so far. She won the Urban Contemporary Female Vocalist and People’s Choice Award categories at the Rhythm of Gospel Awards in the United States. Her latest album, Still Standing, was named Album of the Year at this year’s Intercontinental Music Awards, based in Canada. She also received the Song of the Year award for Release Your Power featuring Michael Manhertz. Both awards were in the Christian/contemporary gospel category. Released in October 2024, the 11-track album is a combination of declarations, proclamations, encouragement, deep worship and high praise, a musical journey that leaves listeners wanting more.

Beginning her musical journey at 12 years old, Robinson started singing in the youth department, as well as duets with her sister. In 2015, she officially became a recording artist and released her first EP, self-titled Roxanne Robinson. Over the course of her career, she has released tracks such as Yahweh, Release Your Power, Holy Rock of Ages and her recently released collaboration with O’Neil Watson, a high-energy track titled Calypso Medley.

The Sterling Gospel Music Awards will take place on October 4, 2025.

The gospel artiste said more music is on the horizon, as well as her third annual night of worship, which is slated for October as well.
