Isiah Mentor encouraging music lovers to focus on the future with ‘Let Them Go’

In Isiah Mentor’s book, looking to the future is a sign of positive thinking. The veteran singer projects those thoughts on Let Them Go, his latest song.

Released in August, the self-produced single encourages people to put the negatives of the past behind them. It is a policy he has lived by for years.

“Our brains tend to revisit the past, but I try to leave the past where it belongs — in the past. Those who dwell in the past will be buried in the past,” Isiah Mentor reasoned. “Use it as a lesson, but don’t carry it in the future.”

He is accompanied by several top musicians on Let Them Go, including drummer Sly Dunbar, bass guitarist Danny “Danny Bassie” Dennis and keyboardist Paul “Wrongmove” Crossdale of The Firehouse Crew.

Let Them Go is Isiah Mentor’s second song released for 2025. The first, Dance With Me Again, was released in January.

A recording artiste since the 1980s, Isiah Mentor started his career as Lilly Melody. He is a protégé of the Waterhouse music circuit which produced many ground-breaking acts such as Hugh Mundell, Black Uhuru, Wayne Smith and Echo Minott.

Isiah Mentor is already looking ahead to 2026, when he plans to release a series of songs and focus on his biggest market.

“My plans for the year is to release a well-produced song with musicians and producers from around the world every three to four months. Separately, I record for different independent labels around the world, so I have songs being released regularly, mostly in Europe,” he said.
