PORTLAND, Jamaica – Housebreaking and larceny charges have been laid against a 34-year-old farmer after he allegedly stole electronics from a relative.
Charged is Winston Collington of Mount Herman district, Hope Bay, Portland, and Enfield district, St Mary.
Reports from the Hope Bay Police are that on Monday, September 15, Collington was asked to leave the residence he was at after he and a relative had an argument, and he complied.
About 7:10 am the following day, the homeowner’s son left his laptop in his room, locked the house, and left for work. Upon the man’s return that day, he realised that his laptop was missing.
A report was made to the police. Sometime after, Collington was seen in the area acting in a manner that aroused residents’ suspicion and was held and then handed over to the police. It was later revealed that the homeowner’s son’s laptop had allegedly been seen in Collington’s possession.
Following a question-and-answer session, Collington was charged on Saturday, September 20, and is scheduled to appear in the Portland Parish Court on Tuesday, October 7.
