Police have confirmed that Giovanni Ellis, the person of interest in the killing of nine-year-old Kelsey Ferrigon in St Catherine, was killed in a confrontation with lawmen in Clarendon on Monday morning.
The incident reportedly occurred in Sandy Bay, Clarendon. No more details were immediately available.
Ferrigon was found dead in a barrel at her home on Job Lane in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Friday. It is suspected that she had been sexually assaulted.
Ellis was subsequently named a person of interest by the police and a manhunt launched to apprehend him.
