Mask, the Halloween show with a Caribbean twist, returns to the Sport Of Kings venue at Gulfstream Racetrack in Hallandale, South Florida on October 25. It will be the ghoulish event’s 25th anniversary and promoters have some surprises in store.

According to Jamaican Jaime Young, co-founder of Mask, patrons will don outrageous costumes in line with the season. He told Observer Online that they will, “Embrace their alter ego for a night of freedom, fun, and flair.”

Dubbed ‘The Masked Performer Edition’, the silver anniversary features Gyptian, who celebrates his 42nd birthday on October 25.

Gyptian

“This year marks a monumental milestone, 25 years of The Mask! To celebrate this quarter-century legacy, we proudly present The Masked Performer Edition, featuring a special birthday celebration for Gyptian. Expect loud, electric rhythms, pulsating energy, and bodies moving to the beat inside the exclusive Sport of Kings venue at Gulfstream Park,” said Young.

Entrusted with keeping those bodies moving to West Indian sounds of reggae, dancehall and soca are Delano of Renaissance, Selecta Renegade, DJ Nicco 876, DJ LS One, and Nocturnal Sound, manned by Papa Keith.

Young has promoted high-profile events in South Florida for 30 years. They include Stages Miami, Naked, French Reserve, Truckstop and Foam Wet Fete. He considers Mask, “Miami’s number one themed annual costume event; a true celebration of creativity, culture, and connection.”
