48-hour curfew imposed in Kingston Western

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in sections of the Kingston Western Police Division. The curfew began at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 25, and will remain in effect until 6:00 pm on Saturday, September 27.

The boundaries are as follows:
South: Along the Kingston Harbour from Greenwich Farm Fishing Village to Ocean Boulevard vicinity, the eastern end of the Kingston Craft Market.
West: Along an imaginary line from the Kingston Harbour straight onto East Avenue onto Maxfield Avenue to the intersection of Rousseau Road.
North: Along Rousseau Road form the intersection of Maxfield Avenue to the intersection of Lyndhurst Road.
East: Along Lyndhurst Road from the intersection of Rousseau Road onto Studio One Boulevard, onto Slipe Road running southerly onto Orange Street then westerly onto North Street, onto Princess Street, then westerly onto West Queens Street, southerly onto West Street, west onto Harbour Street then South onto Ocean Boulevard straight along an imaginary line to get Kingston Harbour.

During the hours of the curfew, people within the boundaries of the curfew are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorsised by the ground commander.
