Jamaica will be represented in the men’s 4x400m final after a courageous run in the semi-finals on the penultimate day of the World Athletics Championships at the national stadium in Tokyo, Japan, on Saturday.
The team of Bovel McPherson, Jevaughn Powell, Jasauna Dennis and Delano Kennedy ran a season’s best 2:59.13, the fifth fastest time of the round to get the final qualification spot into the final set for Sunday.
There was a massive upset as the USA, winners of nine of the last 10 World Championships men’s 4x400m relays, failed to make it past the first round after finishing sixth in their semi-final race, running 3:01.16.
