Rubio congratulates Holness, commits to strengthening ties with Jamaica

United States (US) Secretary of State Marco Rubio has congratulated Dr Andrew Holness on being re-elected Prime Minister of Jamaica and has committed to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing priorities.

Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Piggott of the US Department of State, in a media statement on Wednesday, said Rubio, who spoke to Holness on Sunday, thanked him for Jamaica’s leadership in promoting stability in the region and underscored Jamaica’s strong partnership with the United States in countering transnational organised crime.

Both Holness and Rubio noted that they look forward to continuing collaborative efforts to enhance security and stability in our hemisphere.
