KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 30-year-old man from Rocky Hill, Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth, has been charged with burglary and larceny following a series of break-ins in Coral Spring Village, Trelawny earlier this month.

The accused, Jermaine Findley, was formally charged on September 16, after being implicated in an incident that occurred around 3:50 am when a homeowner was awakened by a phone call and noticed suspicious activity.

According to reports from the Falmouth police, the homeowner went to investigate and discovered Findley inside a room of his house. Findley reportedly fled the scene with an undetermined sum of money and several pieces of jewellery after the homeowner raised an alarm.

Police launched an investigation, during which CCTV footage was obtained allegedly linking Findley to the break-in.

An intelligence-led operation was carried out later the same day, resulting in the interception of Findley.

The police reportedly recovered a gold bracelet and a wedding band believed to be stolen during the incident.

A court date for Findley is being arranged.
