The team at Aventa is busy as they assist patrons at the recently held PSJ conference at Princess Hotels.
Aventa Jamaica reaffirmed its commitment to healthcare last week as it marked its role as Gold Sponsor of the Pharmaceutical Society of Jamaica’s (PSJ) 40th Annual Conference, held at the Princess Grand Jamaica Hotel, Green Island in Negril.
Speaking at the conference that brought together pharmacists, industry leaders, and healthcare partners from September 4–7, Aventa Jamaica CEO Glenise Durrant underscored its mission of advancing health and enhancing lives.
“This event is not just about presence, but about showing up with purpose,” said Durrant. “We partner with the PSJ to support our pharmacists in their continuing education. Earlier this year, our seminar attracted over 1,200 participants, and we look forward to further strengthening these efforts in the years ahead.”
As a Gold Sponsor, Aventa focused on reinforcing its relationships with stakeholders such as the National Health Fund, PSJ, and its pharmacist network. The brand highlighted initiatives around market access, ensuring patients benefit from reliable and timely access to quality medicines. These efforts, achieved through collaboration with suppliers, principals, regulators, and industry partners, reflect Aventa’s commitment to strengthening Jamaica’s healthcare system, the company said.
While Aventa operates across Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, Curaçao, and Aruba, its leadership affirmed that Jamaica holds a special place within the regional network.
“Jamaica is one of our most important markets, not only in scale but in opportunity,” noted James Walker, CEO of Aventa Group. “Through this conference, pharmacists serve as the vital connection between manufacturers and patients, and we are committed to supporting them with the resources they need to thrive.”
The leadership team’s visible presence at the Princess Grand underscored this commitment. The company’s booth showcased its expanding portfolio, from over-the-counter products to specialty and ethical lines, as well as personal care. Executives pointed to the importance of investing not only in infrastructure and distribution reliability but also in people, with new hires placed across emerging business lines.
Aventa Jamaica also used the conference as a platform to recognize the strength of its strategic partnerships. Over recent years, alliances with principals such as Asofarma, Ferring, Organon, First Quality, Health 2000 Canada, Carlisle, and Diquez have deepened, positioning the company as a trusted partner for both suppliers and pharmacists. These partnerships have allowed Aventa to diversify its portfolio and expand its role in supporting healthcare delivery.
As the PSJ’s Ruby Edition concluded, Aventa Jamaica reaffirmed that quality remains the guiding principle of its operations.
“Our business is built on quality service and quality deliverables. That commitment is what defines us in the Jamaican market and across the region,” shared Indera Maharaj, Commercial Director of the Aventa Group.
The company also highlighted its intention to continue investing in continuing education, infrastructure, and product availability, with plans already underway for another large-scale seminar in 2026.
Reflecting on the four-day event, the team expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage directly with pharmacists and reaffirmed its optimism for the future.
“This conference was a reminder of the tremendous value this market represents,” concluded James. “We are proud to stand with Jamaica’s pharmacists and to play our part in advancing health for all.”
