KINGSTON, Jamaica – Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri’s first senior international goal has given Jamaica the lead against Trinidad and Tobago at half time in their Concacaf Group B men’s World Cup qualifier at the National Stadium in Kingston on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old Sheffield Wednesday player who made his debut in the first game of the round against Bermuda on Friday, took full advantage of a poor pass from a Trinidad and Tobago defender and got by two more before firing past goalkeeper Denzil Smith in the 36th minute.
Six minutes earlier, Trinidad and Tobago thought they had taken the lead after Levi Garcia fired past Jahmali Waite in the Jamaican goal but it was ruled offside by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
Jamaica had gotten off to a good start and had kept the Trinidad and Tobago team on their heels but failed to take advantage and allowed the visitors back into the game.
