Livingstone Morrison takes over as JSE boss

Veteran banker Livingstone Morrison has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Jamaica Stock Exchange Group effected September 8.

His appointment follows the retirement of long-serving Managing Director Dr Marlene Street Forrest.

The announcement was made in a notice on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday.

The JSEG on its website describes Morrison as a transformational leader who is passionate about executive coaching, people development and performance improvement, adding that he has vast experience in corporate governance, strategic planning and payment system development.

Morrison is a retired deputy governor of the Bank of Jamaica who had oversight responsibility for the central bank’s Administrative and Technical Services, Finance and Technology, as well as Payment Systems and Risk Management divisions.

Street Forrest departs after more than 20 years at the helm of the JSE, having replaced Wain Iton as head of the entity in 2004.

Among the major achievements under her stewardship was the JSE being ranked the world’s best-performing stock market in 2015 and 2018.
