LED360 on towing

LED360 is hoping to revolutionise the towing and recovery market with its new phone application, which it launched on Wednesday, April 14, at Jamaica Pegasus hotel, New Kingston.

“This is a new way of doing things. There’s nothing like this in the market,” Kory Dixon, CEO, LED360, told the
Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.

The LED360 app, available on the Google and IOS app stores, connects users with 360 Wrecking, the towing and recovery service arm of LED360 powered by Smurf Limited, Dixon’s automotive collision and repair business.

The app allows 24/7 access to the 360 Wrecking fleet. Once activated, users can summon a tow vehicle to their location, in which case the AI will choose the tow vehicle that can respond fastest to the client. App users can track the tow vehicle in real time, receive the particulars of the driver and tow vehicle, communicate in real time, and view the pricing beforehand.

Dixon explained that his towing and recovery services were initially limited to his autobody repair customers, and that the functionality of the LED360 app has allowed this expansion.

The service will begin to the Kingston and St Andrew, with an eventual move islandwide.

“I’m looking for a favourable response from the public to this,” said Dixon.

He also touted secondary goals of the LED360 app, such as making it available to third-party vendors who wish to use it to provide other services such as food delivery or medical responses. The app contains the ability to capture driver data, which Dixon feels could be useful for insurance companies and businesses that have a heavy transport element.
