KINGSTON, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) aspirant for St Andrew East Central, Dennis Gordon, on Sunday pledged improved access to healthcare for constituents should he be elected their representative in the next general election.
He was speaking during the party’s divisional conference held at the Norman Manley High School.
Gordon, who is also chairman of Jacden Pharma & Medical Services, shared that the company is now open to the public and will provide free care to registered residents.
“I gave a commitment and I am reinforcing that commitment tonight,” he said. “Not one single comrade, once you’re properly registered, will be turned back because you don’t have any money. That is my gift to you, healthcare.”
Voicing strong support for Cuban doctors, Gordon also revealed that the facility will soon be supported by Cuban doctors who will offer specialised care in cardiology, ophthalmology, dialysis, and oncology. He said an eye care centre is also “fully equipped and ready to go”.
“I stand with the Cubans because they have always stood with us,” he said. “Whatever geopolitical challenge there is, I am saying tonight publicly that whatever comes, I am going to keep them here for the duration.”
