‘Puddie’ charged following breach of Firearms Act

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 20-year-old man has been charged with several firearm offences after turning himself in to the police.

Police say they have charged Jaheim Bailey, otherwise called ‘Puddie’ a barber of Rodney Street, Jones Town, Kingston 12 with shooting with intent, illegal importation of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, and making use of a firearm to commit a felony following an incident in his community on May 9.

Reports from the Admiral Town Police are that about 8:20 pm, a man was sitting on the roadway when he was pounced upon by Bailey who was armed with a gun. However, the man managed to escape and a report was made to the police.

On Tuesday, June 10, Bailey turned himself over to the police and was subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
