KINGSTON, Jamaica — Olympian Navasky Anderson broke his own Jamaican men’s national record in the 800m after he ran 1:44.61 to win the event at the Mission Run Baltimore High Performance on Sunday.
Anderson, who also represented Jamaica at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, broke his own 1:44.70 set in 2023.
This new mark gives Anderson, the former St Jago High and Mississippi State runner, the four fastest times in the two-lap race by a Jamaican man after he broke the 1:45.30 that was set by Seymour Newman in 1977.
