May 29, 2025

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Police in Manchester say six firearms have been seized in the past two weeks in operations across the parish.

Acting Commander and Operations Officer for Manchester, Deputy Superintendent Luhas Daniels, said the operations are ongoing to combat crime.

“Within the last two weeks, six illegal guns and 42 9mm cartridges have been removed from the streets of Manchester. Seven people have been arrested and charged, and one was fatally shot in a confrontation with the police. This is an indication that many lives have been saved and serious injury prevented because of these [seizures],” he said.
