Spirit Airlines is set to resume the nonstop route from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) to Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay, Jamaica, starting July 11, 2025.
The service will run three times per week, on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, providing travellers with greater access to one of the Caribbean’s most popular travel destinations.
Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, stated, “This nonstop flight from Baltimore highlights Jamaica’s rising popularity as a top travel destination, while also reinforcing the economic and cultural connections between our island and the US East Coast.”
He further noted, “The reintroduction of this route not only improves access from an important US region but also increases our seating capacity to accommodate the growing demand for travel to Jamaica this summer.”
Donovan White, Director of Tourism shared, “We are excited to resume this Spirit Airlines service, which makes it even more convenient for travelers from the US East Coast to explore Jamaica. We eagerly anticipate welcoming more guests and giving them the chance to enjoy our beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, award-winning food, and iconic music.”
John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines expressed “We’re all about getting our Guests to the places they want to go most, and Montego Bay is a great destination for travelers looking to enjoy a warm, Caribbean getaway. The service connecting the Baltimore-Washington D.C. area (BWI) to Jamaica will make it easier for visitors to explore the island and nicely complements our existing service from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO).”
