ST MARY, Jamaica — Six people were arrested during an early morning police operation in the communities of Albion Mountain, Bailey’s Vale, Oxford, Trinity, Page Beach and Frontier in St Mary on Thursday.
Of the six arrested individuals, three were held for outstanding warrants for breaches of the Road Traffic Act. They are 43-year-old bus driver Omar Duncan of Trinity Land, 42-year-old self-employed Clyde Mcgreggor of Bailey’s Vale and 40-year-old driver Craig Johnson of Frontier.
Twenty-three-year-old labourer Chevaughn Linton of a Carron Hall address and 23-year-old farmer Oshawn Crosdale of an Islington address were also taken into custody on charges of wounding with intent and causing grievous bodily harm.
A 24-year-old mason, Courtney Brown of Frontier Heights, Port Maria, was arrested and charged with possession of identity information.
The operation was conducted by the Area Two Fugitive team (AFAT), the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation (CTOC), the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement branch (PSTEB), the Canine Division, the Specialised Operations unit, the Firearm and Narcotics Investigation Division along with members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF).
The police said 21 people were also detained but were later released during the operation.
