ST ANN, Jamaica — Four teams will be seeking their first win when the St Ann Football Association Major League continues with a double header at Drax Hall on Thursday.
In the first game, Steer Town FC, who were held 0-0 in their opening game last week by Higgin Town FC, will play Lewis YC, who were beaten 3-2 by Black Star.
In the second game, Exchange United, who are on one point, take on King FA, who lost their opening game.
On Tuesday, Kevin Maine scored the competition’s first hat trick to lead Moneague FC to a 3-0 win over Mt Edgecombe in a Zone B game played at Drax Hall. The win takes Moneague FC to the top of the points table, on goal difference over Black Stars, followed by Higgin Town FC and Steer Town FC, both on one point.
Madras FC lead Zone A with three points from their opening win over promoted King FA, who won the Division One last season, with Exchange United and Richmond FC both on one point.
Eleven teams are taking part in the competition that will see the winners qualify for the Jamaica Football Federation Championships play-offs.
The teams are competing for the major league championships and cash incentives totalling over $850,000.
In earlier games, Errol Steven scored a double for Richmond FC in their 2-2 draw against Exchange FC, for whom Yulawneo Cole and Okello Dillon scored. Sahir Moncrieffe and Dwegye Brown scored for Madras FC in their win over King FA, while Rojay Stone scored a double and Alex Johnson the other for Black Stars in their 3-2 win over Lewis YC.
