Green appointed leader of gov’t business in House of Representatives

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Member of Parliament for St Elizabeth South Western, Floyd Green has been appointed leader of government business in the House of Representatives.

Green, who was first elected in 2016, recently secured a third consecutive term in the 2025 general election, the first time a Jamaica Labour Party candidate has achieved this in the constituency.

With this new title, Green will oversee the coordination of the Government’s legislative agenda and guide the management of debates in the House of Representatives.

In addition to his parliamentary responsibilities, Green also serves as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, where he has been leading initiatives to strengthen Jamaica’s food security and rural development.
