Jamaica won silver in the first-ever mixed 4x100m final, finishing second behind Canada in the final at the World Relays in Guangzhou, China on Sunday, running 40.44 seconds.
There were two changes to the team that had won the first round heat in 41.04 seconds with Serena Cole and Bryan Levell replacing Natasha Morrison and Rasheed Foster.
A slightly delayed baton exchange between Krystal Sloley on the second leg and Javari Thomas could have made the difference between the silver and the gold.
Canada won the gold medal with a world best 40.30 seconds while Great Britain took third with 40.88 seconds.
