KSAFA Championship and Major Leagues semis postponed to Saturday

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Wray and Nephew Championship and Major Leagues semi-finals kick off this weekend at the Constant Spring Sports Complex.

A new champion will be crowned in the championship following Boys’ Town’s elimination, with Constant Spring, August Town, Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) and Olympic Gardens left to fight for the title.

In the Major League, last year’s winner, August Town, has stepped up to the championship, paving the way for a new champion to be decided between New Kingston, Seaview Gardens, Red Hill United and Cooreville Gardens.

Originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, the games have been moved to Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the rescheduled Premier League playoff games.

On Saturday, New Kingston will tackle Seaview Gardens at 6:00 pm before the JDF take on Olympic Gardens at 8:30 pm in first-leg action.

On Sunday, another set of first-leg games will see Red Hill play Cooreville Garden at 6:00 pm before Constant Spring host August Town at 8:30 pm.

The winners of the championship will walk away with a whopping $1 million in prize money with $600,000 for the runners-up.

The winning team in the Major League will get $600,000, while the second-placed team will take home $300,000.
