TikToker ‘Candy’ cleared of assault charge after mediation

May 6, 2025

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Popular TikToker Kemar Jones, better known as “Candy”, was cleared of his assault at common law charge when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday.

The charges stemmed from a physical altercation between Jones and Winston Dennis on October 18, 2024. Both men were charged following the incident — Jones with assault and Dennis with wounding with intent.

When they appeared before Senior Parish Court Judge Sanchia Burrell, both men pleaded not guilty.

The matter was resolved through mediation, during which Dennis agreed to compensate Jones with a payment of $100,000, to be made in two instalments. The final payment is due on June 20, 2025.

Jones was formally discharged and cleared of the charges.
