PHILADELPHIA, United States — Herbert Morrison Technical has been added to the Championships of America’s high school boys’ 4x100m finals after they were inadvertently left out of the original rankings by the organisers of the 128th Penn Relays Carnival being held at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

The Herbert Morrison team which ran 41.26 seconds, the second fastest time of the day, were originally left off the list of teams through to the final but were later added, joining six other Jamaican schools that had also qualified for the final that will be run on Saturday’s final day.

Excelsior High who has won the 4x100m just once, nearly 60 years ago in 1967 when it was still called the 4×110 yards when they ran 41.7 seconds, leads all qualifiers with 40.62 seconds.

The other qualifiers are : Kingston College – 41.30 seconds, St Jago High- 41.35 seconds, St George’s College- 41.42 seconds, Calabar High – 41.70 seconds and defending champions Jamaica College – 41.73 seconds.

Wolmer’s Boys’ who were originally in the Championships of Americas finals after running 41.84 seconds, were bumped to the International finals along with William Knibb Memorial – 41.99 seconds. They will join STETHS- 42.26 seconds, Cornwall College 42.53 seconds, Munro College- 42.83 seconds and Petersfield High 43.14 seconds. Jamaica College 7:45.38 seconds and Kingston College 7:53.86 seconds are also through to the high school boys’ 4x800m final on Saturday.
