Also, the streets of Cooreville Gardens are named after famous Jamaican artistes in recognition of their contribution in music and the theatre and Ranny Close is named after Randolph Samuel Williams (popular Ranny Williams).

Randolph Samuel Williams also known as Mas Ran and Ranny Williams, (October 26, 1912 – August 11, 1980), was a Jamaican comedian and actor. Ranny Williams was born in Colón, Panama, he came to Jamaica at the age of six.

He hosted television shows, appeared in pantomimes and films. His outstanding achievement in the field of entertainment and drama earned him several awards.

The Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre is named for him.
