New Under-17 Development Programme to nurture nation’s best footballers

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Professional Football Jamaica Limited (PFJL) has partnered with sponsors Malta to launch a new youth football initiative, the Under-17 Development Programme (UDP).

PFJL says UDP will be an elite level junior football training programme to help nurture the nation’s best under -17 talents and provide an avenue into senior clubs and national teams.

Former league champions Arnett Gardens FC, Harbour View FC, Portmore United and Waterhouse FC will be the four clubs participating in the programme.

The focus will be on tactical and technical abilities of the players, management of players using data/science and improving marketing and media relations of the clubs.

PFJL says it will also host three one day football festivals at centralised venues on May 25, June 29 and July 27 where the teams will compete against each other.
